Some people think that clothes help them show who they really are.
Clothing is the social signals like human speech and behavior. It shows what role in society people have and how the relate to the culture in which they live. First off all people need clothes to ensure comfort, protection from heat and cold. It seems to me that thanks to new technologies (heating in the apartments…) people could out of this feature and walk naked. But the limits of decency do not allow us to do that.
As for decency in the different countries there are. For example, in Arab countries, Muslim women are supposed to carefully hide not only the body, but also its shape.
On the other side clothes are demo function. When the clothes speak for you, who you really are. In the 14th century in England, if a man wore the costume of a social class above their own, then fine, but "illegal clothes" were taken. In our lives such there is no hard and fast rules, but the soldier has no right to wear the uniform of a Colonel. That is and now people dress up according to their status. Therefore, if I meet a man in the jacket-the leather jacket with protruding spikes, ripped jeans, piercings, big chains, I would know that it's punk. In other words his clothes told me this.
But it is not so simple as it seems. Not all can be seen on clothes, sometimes making the mistake of succumbing first impression. The appearance will not show you're angry or kind, sociable or reserved and what is in your soul, what a character you have. In other words some people mistakenly think their clothes show who they really are. But the clothes only perform a specific function: it show our social status, protect us from heat and cold. I mean that inner world of man can be found only talking to him.
