People spend plenty of time travelling nowadays. Commuting and holidays abroad are gaining more and more popularity. We use different means of transport, including cars and public transport. Some people think that the latter is a very convenient way of travelling, whereas others disapprove of it.

To my mind, using public transport is a very beneficial way to travel. First of all, modern buses and trains are really comfortable. They are big, light and the seats are pleasant to sit in. Secondly, they allow you to travel rather fast and rarely get stuck in traffic jams, which are a real problem for private transport. One more thing is that they usually follow a regular timetable, so you can easily time your journey. On top of everything, they are much more environmentally friendly than other means of transport. For example, 40 people can travel in one bus, whereas if they used private transport, they would occupy around 35 cars thus polluting the air 35 times more.

On the other hand, some people consider public transport to be inconvenient. They say it is always overcrowded and they hate to wait for it in chilly or rainy weather. They also complain that it is unreliable as the passages are often delayed.

However, I cannot agree with this opinion, as these people forget about health benefits we get from staying in the open air for a bit longer even involuntary while waiting for the transport to come. Walking in cases of delays and cancels of the passages is also healthy.

All in all, I am still convinced that public transport is convenient, environmentally friendly and beneficial for our health.
