In today’s stressful world it is very important for people to do something that makes their life more engaging. It is popularly believed that if we do not have passions, we just will have monotonous life. But some people claim that having a hobby is a waste of time. I would like to express my opinion on this problem.
There are many things to be said in favour of idea that having a hobby is good. To begin with, hobbies help people to relax, forget about their troubles and have a good time. Moreover, passions assist people in their self-development. For instance, hobbies like collecting, photography give them information about different things. Additionally, hobbies can develop into a serious business, so people will get money for it.
However, there are people who think that a person can successfully live without a hobby. Some people point out they will need a lot of money for their hobby and they cannot afford it. The others assume that some hobbies can turn into the firm dependence and become bad for the health.
I do not share the above-given view. Firstly, a great number of interests makes a man more educated and intelligent. Secondly, there are a lot of hobbies, which do not require large expenditures. Finally, if a person keeps a sense of proportion, hobbies will not have influence on his health.
To draw the conclusion, one can say it is up to everybody to decide whether to have a hobby or not. Let all the people decide how to make their lives interesting for themselves.
