Some people think that in any occupation discipline is more important than talent. They believe that being disciplined will bring them more success than being only talented. Why do they think so?
As for me, I think that discipline is much more important than talent, because if you are disciplined, determined and ready to work hard for a long time, you will achieve everything you want. For example, if you are talented but undisciplined, it will be quite difficult for you to work as you would not have any working or study schedule, maybe you will become too lazy to do something, and, as a result, you can lose your determination to achieve your goals. In addition, disciplined people adapt to a new job or school much faster, because they always follow some rules. Lastly, disciplined people work in a team better than undisciplined. For instance, they can organize everyone in a team.
On the other hand, some people think that talent is more important. They believe that if you are talented, you can achieve a lot in a short period of time.
But I do not agree with them. I think that discipline is more important because it helps you to organize yourself.
All in all, I want to say that it is important to be self-disciplined. Harry S Truman once said: “In reading the lives of great men, I found that the first victory they won was over themselves… Self-discipline with all of them came first”.
