Some people say that choosing a profession is a question based on preference of their parents. Parents are a certain example for their children, they try to help advising on this topic because teenagers often cannot make up their minds. Should children follow in their parents’footsteps?
From my point of view choosing a profession is a child’s choice. First of all, any teenager that wants to enter a university is an individuality with his own character, ambitions and inclinations that is why he is the first to decide where to go and what to choose. Secondly, modern professions that appear every year demand people with a new thinking and flexibility.
There are people who oppose this point of view. They consider that parents are people who have enormous knowledge in every field of human’s life so they can easily give an advice. What is more, some parents dream that their children will enter the same university, work at the same field because this is stable and they are the true example.
I disagree with the opposing opinion as the question is about the future of a teenager, that’s why personal examples of parents are undoubtedly valuable, but their children will not be able to live their lives again.
In conclusion, I would like to say that we have only one life and imitating other people’s decisions notwithstanding the fact they are our parents is not wisely. Choosing a profession should be based only on motivation and wills of teenagers.
