Nowadays children have many different subjects in their school schedule. These subjects are compulsory. However some people believe that students should be allowed to choose the subjects they want to study.
In my opinion, this is a good idea to allow children to choose the subjects to study. To begin with, pupils will have a chance to study elected subjects more deeply because the extra and unneeded subjects will not distract them. Moreover, in high school they will be able to choose the subjects not only they are interested in but necessary for their future education. Finally, the choice of subjects will definitely help the students to prepare for the exams.
Nevertheless, some people think that students should study compulsory subjects. First, if students study only chosen subjects, they will have a poor outlook, vocabulary, etc. Second, students may choose only easy subjects or make a mistake in choosing.
I do not agree with the opposite opinion because it is unlikely that students will spoil their own life. I think the selection of school subjects is the first difficult decision in their lives and the first step into adulthood.
In conclusion, I want to say that our education system could be improved if students are allowed to choose the subjects they want to study.
