We live in the age of information technology. It’s so hard to imagine life without the Internet. It is a very good thing. But some people claim that the Internet has more drawbacks than advantages. In this essay I will try to express my point of view.
In my opinion, the Internet is a useful thing. To start with, the Internet is useful, because it allows us to access a world of knowledge. Websites contain a mass of good information at the disposal of any interested persons. For example, people can read books, textbooks, dictionaries in the Net. Moreover, there are many social networking sites. That’s why it’s possible to communicate with relatives, friends anywhere in the world.
However, some people believe that the Internet can be a disaster for our society. They spend hours in front of their computers, spoil their health, miss an opportunity of live talking with people, become more annoyed and don’t even notice that virtual world attracts them much more than real one.
I’m afraid I can’t agree with this opinion because if people use their time efficiently they will not waste a lot of time surfing the Internet.
In conclusion, I think that the Internet gives us an opportunity to self-realization, communication between people. We should remember that it’s only a tool of getting information.
