Books are an important part of our life, especially in the information age in which we live.
To start with, I must say, very few people still read books. And if they're reading, make sure, it's e-books. Of course, electronic books have their advantages. Firstly, it's easier to take an e-book with twenty loaded novels in your trip than to carry twenty heavy ones with you. Secondly, downloading a book, you can save a lot of money because a paper book is very expensive.
But, despite all of this, I prefer paper books. I think few people can boast of a rich home library. To my mind, a paper book is a real treasure: it's more pleasant to read it, to touch it, to smell it. More over, you avoid health problems.
But it's a pity, not many people realize all the beauty of just printed books: the smell of ink and wood. Not everyone can enjoy flipping pages, re-reading the favorite lines a few thousand times. Besides, to make notes or highlight favorite parts is easier in a paper book.
Maybe, book is really a thing of the past, but not because electronic books are replacing them. Many people think, that to have an electronic book is prestigious, fashionable. But do these people really read them, do not flaunt?
To sum everything up, I'd like to say, that paper books can't disappear until at least one person from a million would read them.
