The school subjects have always been the theme of the most heated discussions. There is an opinion that boys and girls should be given the opportunity to choose doing the courses they are interested in. However, others believe it is not true. But who is right?
In my opinion, the former is. Firstly, it definitely teaches the young to be more responsible. Choosing Science or Humanities as the essential subjects for their further profession and career high school students learn to be independent in making their own decisions. Secondly, in this case educational performances of schoolchildren can greatly improve. If the school is enjoyable for them, they do better progress in the areas they have chosen.
On the contrary, others say that pupils have to study all subjects equally. It is worth mentioning that learning traditional academic subjects teens get comprehensive knowledge. It contributes into their development in different spheres.
But I do not agree with this point of view completely because the mere fact of learning a variety of school subjects does not necessarily mean that it makes students well-rounded. Doing something against their will the young usually lack interest in a lot of disciplines.
In conclusion, I would like to stress out that it is young people themselves who should choose what to study.
