Some people think that pocket money teaches teenagers to be more responsible. Others suppose that young people can’t deal with money and if they have some they buy useless things. In my view, it’s useful to give teenagers pocket money.

To start with, pocket money helps children to learn how plan their budget. The amount of money is limited and teenagers should decide what they need most of all. So, it helps them to understand the value of money. Furthermore, the young people will be more careful when they decide how to spend it. In this way, they learn how to handle money responsible.

In addition to this, pocket money helps teenager to feel themselves independent and to find out the cost of living. Of course, parents should explain that earning money isn’t so easy and how it is important to spend pocket money reasonable. It will be easier for the young people to handle with money when they have jobs and earn their own money.

On the other hand, some people argue that it’s unwise to give teenagers pocket money because they waste it for different useless things. Moreover, the young people don’t learn anything when they became too much pocket money.

To conclude, the way I see it, teenagers learn both responsibility and independence through the pocket money. Why not learn some important life lesson at an early age?
