Hitchhiking is a means of travel, which allows a person to get around by catching rides from passing drivers. While this might sound like just the type of adventure that some people seek, others are very wary about such type of travel.
As far as I am convinced, hitchhiking is always an unforgettable experience, which never brings the same emotions and usually has a different outcome every time. Furthermore, it is an opportunity to get acquainted with a mixture of people, most of which you would never stumble upon in your everyday environment. What is more, this is a way of travelling useful when your resources are limited.
On the other hand, the main drawback of hitchhiking is the time spent waiting for your ride. Sometimes you might have to wait a few hours or even a few days depending on where you are. Another disadvantage is that hitchhiking can be dangerous. You might possibly be robbed or end up in a car with a drugged up driver.
However, I cannot agree with this point of view, because according to statistics hitchhiking is not more dangerous than a variety of other things most people do on a daily basis.
All things considered, I am convinced that hitchhiking is one of the most exciting and cost-effective means of transport. If you hitchhike for just for the fun of travelling, it will give you a feeling of being free as a bird and you will soon notice that people are good.
